Nestling in the beautiful countryside of the Worcestershire plain lies the village of Lower Broadheath, well known for its connection with Sir Edward Elgar. Also sharing the views down the Severn valley to the Malvern Hills and just 100 yards from the Elgar birthplace is an unprepossessing green corrugated iron shed.

Inside this humble edifice, now The Art Studio, is a calm and relaxed gallery, gift shop and framing centre. You are assured of a warm and friendly welcome from Colin Griffiths and his wife Sue, who started The Art Studio in 2003 to offer a quality framing service.

The Art Studio has gathered a reputation for well finished quality framed pictures. Here with an eye for a sympathetic choice of mounts and frame, your treasured picture, photograph or artifacts are framed to a high standard.

Other diverse items that are regularly brought in for framing are: tapestries/cross-stitch images, sports shirts and other sporting memorabilia, cricket bats, rackets, footballs and even baby clothes and shoes. You name it and it can be framed.

The gallery features original work in water colour and oil by artist Robin Holder, who specialises in landscapes of local Worcestershire scenes along the Severn and Teme river valleys.  We can also offer a sourcing service to help find work by other national and international artists.

The Art Studio also make mirrors using 4mm silvered float glass to a size and frame combination to suit your home. Bevelled edge mirrors are also available to set sizes - prices vary according to size and frame chosen.

For those who want to display a collection of small items, open shelf wall units hand-finished in distressed paint effect and table top cases with glass lids are made to measure.

Gifts include interesting and unusual ceramics, jewellery, handcrafted wood, objets d'art in bronze, metal and other materials and quality blank cards suitable for any occasion.

Don't be put off by the outside appearance. Many who have passed by daily for years and eventually venture in have been surprised by the interior and become good customers - so why not come and see for yourself. You will be assured of a warm welcome.
